Triple 8 is the parent company that manufactures Swaddlebees, Blueberry, Pink Daisy, Buggy Baggs.

It all started with a baby...and some ugly diapers.

The year was 2004, and Margarita McClure was scanning websites for diapers--specifically, cloth diapers. Everything she saw online was boring. She wanted diapers that were stylish, fun, and something you'd love to show off. Just because....so she created her own.

After assembling a line of suppliers and contractors, Swaddlebees launched online in April 2005. The success was immediate. The Swaddlebees line had quickly expanded from just 2 products in 2005 to over 20 different styles of cloth diapers and accessories with over 150 retailers and distributors in the US and around the world by the end of 2006. Shipping had to be moved from Margarita's basement to an offsite office within months, only to have to move again as they quickly outgrew the space.

Despite all the success with Swaddlebees, Margarita quickly got bored with the regular colors that every other cloth diaper manufacturer carries. She wanted to offer something flashier, trendier, and make cloth diapers more exciting. She wanted to glamorize cloth diapers. Thus, the birth of Blueberry diapers

Unlike Swaddlebees, Blueberry diapers did not have such humble beginnings. Knowing that there is already a growing demand for cloth diapers, Blueberry Diapers created a market for high fashion cloth diapers that works just as good as it looks. It launched with its signature line of One Size Minky diapers that featured over 32 prints & colors. No other cloth diaper manufacturer carried as big of a style, color and fabric selection as Blueberry Diapers did. Within a few weeks of launching the site, there were over 250 requests from retailers all over the world to carry the line in their own stores.

The original idea was to create a little something that she can sell online so she can stay home to raise her baby. Over the years, the diapers and aspirations have evolved, and in addition to offering the best-looking diapers, multiple diaper brands, feminine products and shopping cart seat covers were added to the line, along with 2 more babies.

Today, the company continues to surprise and delight customers around the world with new fabrics and products, all of which include the Triple 8 hallmarks of great design, innovation and quality.

8 Triple 8 Facts
you may not know (but might have wondered about)!

1. Margarita and her husband Casey owned and operated successful restaurants  before they decided to get smart and make diapers instead. Before that, Margarita had other restaurant jobs, and Casey sold cars.

2. The first few diapers Margarita created were really ugly and was never meant to be seen by aaanybodyyyyyy.

3. The company began designing and manufacturing cloth diapers under the brand name Swaddlebees in late 2004 in Knoxville, TN. The Swaddlebees name does not mean anything. It came about after Margarita paid a naming company $100 to come up with 10 potential names for the new business.

4. The Blueberry diapers line was created in February 2007 with a unique angle on fashion, as a separate division from their original cloth diaper brand Swaddlebees, and launched nationally and internationally in July 2007. The Blueberry name came about because of a complaint from a distributor in Spain that said they can’t carry Swaddlebees because people from their country can’t pronounce it. Margarita had to think of a name that can be easily pronounced by people who’s first language isn’t English.

5. The Pink Daisy line was established in 2008 to accommodate the growing demand for reusable feminine products. It was also a way for us to use scrap fabric from our diapers that would’ve otherwise gone to waste.

6. In 2009 the company acquired Buggy Baggs, a patented high-end line of grocery shopping cart covers.

7. Over 95% of our products are made in the U.S. Major production takes place in  Mountain Home, AR and Fairfax, VA. Headquarters and the distribution facility are located in Knoxville, TN, USA.

8. The name Triple 8 has its roots in Chinese feng shui. The number 8 is widely regarded as a universally lucky number with the Chinese (Margarita is 50% Chinese).  The name was originally used as the corporate name for their restaurant businesses before Margarita had kids. But the name took on a whole new meaning when all 3 of Margarita’s kids were born in the current feng shui period 8.
